"Amish Country Queer" The Feature Documentary Film: Filming Now!

"Amish Country Queer" is an independent Documentary Feature Film, produced by Little Echo Productions, directed by Colleen C. Brady

It has been an incredible several months working on the newly announced feature documentary of the previously released short-doc, "Amish Country Queer," (ACQ). I've had the distinct honor being the Sound Mixer for both the original short film, as well as the feature film in production now. I was absolutely thrilled to work on this production with Colleen and Little Echo Productions, particularly after my experience on their previous film, "Firebird: Built to Burn" around 2020-2021. "Firebird" itself was such an amazing film, and a fantastic first-time feature film by Colleen, there was no question on my part when I was asked to return for this project.

This story resonates so heavily right now. In 2025, at the time of writing this, our country feels to be in such a dark period, particularly for the LGBTQIA+ and Queer communities across the nation. It has never been easy for our LGBTQ friends and family, but it becomes exceptionally difficult during a time when rights and protections are so frivolously being reduced, or entirely taken away. Perhaps what is most impressive about "ACQ" is that it is primarily a film about Queer Joy, love, family, and community. While films like these tend to focus mostly on the negative, this film is flipping that script and instead highlighting the positivity, passion, endurance, art, and support within the community.

You'll have to watch the film to learn more, but I can say it has been nothing short of incredible working with this amazing and talented crew, and being a small part in bringing this story to the screen.
